Two-channel video installation – Original Music
The 14th Resolution is a two-channel aerial video installation by artist Bisti, created during a 10-week residency in Kuala Lumpur following Malaysia’s historic 14th General Election in 2018—the country’s first democratic change of government since independence.
Inspired by the writings of Henri Lefebvre and Guy Debord, the work examines the relationship between political transformation, urban space and collective memory. Filmed entirely with drones, it reimagines the city through shifting aerial perspectives, challenging conventional ways of seeing and revealing the hidden structures that shape everyday life. Blending intuitive exploration with systematic observation, the film becomes a visual essay on the production of space, the experience of the city and the changing political landscape.
The original score is an abstract electronic composition that explores the psychological and spatial dimensions of the film. Rather than illustrating the images, the music creates an immersive sonic environment where evolving textures, fragmented harmonic gestures and subtle rhythmic movements mirror the detached aerial gaze. The score enhances the film’s sense of disorientation and contemplation, inviting the viewer to experience the city not simply as a physical landscape, but as a living, constantly transforming political and emotional space.
