3000 and Some 2018
Stream3000 Some
Contemporary dance performance – Original Music
3000 and Some… is a contemporary dance performance by Compagnie DK-BEL, choreographed by Sophie Bulbulyan. The work is inspired by the stories and experiences of refugees the choreographer encountered in Greece, tracing their journey from forced displacement to the uncertainty of waiting for a host country, while paying tribute to the thousands who have lost their lives seeking safety and a better future.
For the performance, Tryfon Koutsourelis composed the original music, performed live by a string ensemble alongside Tryfon on electronics. The music creates an immersive sonic experience in which acoustic and electronic worlds continuously interact, evolving organically with the choreography. Balancing moments of intimacy with expansive sonic textures, the live score shapes the emotional atmosphere of the performance while reflecting the themes of displacement, resilience and hope.
