A Whole Person Almost 2026

A whole person almost

Feature Film – Original Score

Music Score for A Whole Person Almost, the first feature film by Greek-German director Efthimis Kosemund-Sanidis, produced by Horsefly Films / Horsefly Productions. The film was selected for the Proxima Competition of the 60th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF), where it received its world premiere.

Ilias travels to a remote island to settle his late father’s inheritance. As he becomes drawn into the island community, he uncovers hidden fragments of his father’s past, while his own emotions begin to resurface through mysterious bodily spasms, power cuts, and his encounter with Kalliopi.

The music is based on Franz Schubert’s Impromptu in C Minor, Op. 90, D. 899 No. 1. Rather than approaching the work as a conventional arrangement, the score deconstructs and reimagines Schubert’s material through the emotional world of the screenplay. Motifs, harmonic fragments, and gestures from the original piece are transformed, stretched, and recomposed, creating a new musical language that moves between memory, fragmentation, inner tension, and fragile intimacy.
